Bev Blackwood
Bev Blackwood is a longtime beverage writer, BJCP National beer judge, and occasional spirits reviewer for Celebrator. He has been writing about beer and beverage culture for more than 20 years and brings deep tasting experience from his work as a judge, homebrewer, educator, and former professional brewer. A member of Houston’s Foam Rangers homebrew club, Bev teaches beer judging to area enthusiasts and has earned numerous homebrewing medals in competitions across the United States. He previously brewed professionally for Saint Arnold Brewing Company, where he contributed to the brewery’s first gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. A graduate of Rice University, Bev also edits a regional beer periodical and pursues a wide range of creative and hands-on interests, including cooking, photography, video, graphic art, aviation, and home renovation.
